A short Bio...

I was born. I'm not dead yet.
Well guys, there you go...a short Bio if there ever was one.
Okay, okay... just kidding!

Hello everyone. My name is Kevin Graybeal and I have a rod building problem.
(seems I spend more time building them than I do using them)
I was born and raised in the mountains of southern West Virginia. Fifteen yards away from the Big Coal river, polluted with Smallmouth. Today - it's just plain ole polluted.
Like Doc, I grew up hunting and fishing, love and serve my country, and worked in the medical field. (And like Doc, had my day as a ladies man too. Doc continues to work in the field, but my wife made me retire. Imagine that.)

I currently serve as the State Director of an organization that works with the Federal government in Counter-Terrorism efforts. One can tolerate work of such a serious nature for only so long without cracking, so I fish and play hard when I'm able, and you'll find I don't take most things too seriously while not working.
Laughter is wonderful for stress relief, and I find that I need it often. Please keep that in mind if I seem to come across as being "a little strange" at times
And, I'll try not to post if/when "alcoholically enhanced" wink (just kidding!)

Glad to be here among some of the greats in the craft, and I'm sure TRB is going to make a difference in the future of rod building.

No Doc... not yet. I'm using voice-recognition software that writes as I dictate. It really saves the hand! lol
I'll get some pics up soon, I promise.

Well Doc - I think I see your problem...
See, I'm using Dragon Naturally Speaking v8.0... they've improved it dramatically from the older versions. I've used this one quite a bit, and after dedicated, exhaustive and repeated scientific research, I have discovered that this version works well with, and understands Natural Ice-ese, Grolsch-ese, Heineken-ese, Vodka-ese, and... thanks to this damn stupid broken hand, Vicodin-ese.
And that's with a West Virginia Hillbilly accent to boot!
You know, if that's not one hell of an endorsement for a product, I don't know what is...wink
I'm just not sure how well it would understand Budweiser-ese... me thinks perhaps it needs further testing...  I'll let ya know as soon as the results come in... lol!

How ya been buddy? Call me sometime if you ever get bored!
(Like Doc getting bored is ever gonna happen?!)

Awesome Kevin! Good looking Kiddo!
Where were you at with all the racks of blanks in the background?
Do you want me to cut out the face in first photo and post it as your avatar?? haha always glad to help.

Also, it is definately OK to post when too much Rod Builder lubricant is applied (Budweiser)...it is easier for those of us that are also speaking Budweiser-ese!

Thanks Terry! That's my 2 yo grandaughter, Phoenix.
...the racks of blanks in the background? That's my shop.
(just kidding... that the Mudhole. I live about 45 min. away)

...Rod Builder lubricant... Haha! I'll have to remember that one!
The voice recognition software I use has to be trained to an individual's voice before it works right. You read to it (from a selection of items it comes with), and it learns how you speak and pronounce different words - you then "save" that "voice file" under your name.
Anyone else that wants to use it, has to train it as well, so it can work with different people on the same 'pooter.
And it prefers that you speak to it like a Fighter Pilot...it doesn't understand too well when you slur your words - but I think maybe I need to train it to understand me under an additional "voice file" I will name "Lubricated" for those "special times"...lol beer.gif

Thanks everyone.
I like that quote from your dad Ray. My dad used to tell me many times daily -
"Put that damn thing down and go wash your hands!"
