UN-FREAK'N-BELIEVABLE! I've said you've raised the bar, Mark... but now.... you're just showing off! lol... Incredible work my friend! Pic#10 - the two with burl cork? Thats the most beautiful handle I've ever seen!
Kevin, the cork in teh last picture isn't burl it's bulletin board cork from Wal-Mart with a couple of Doc's old recycled Bud cans. The top and the bottom grip start off from the same blank, the top one is on four axes's and the bottom is a single piece. I wasn't sure how well I'd like the top grip, but it's starting to grow on me, I just need to find time to finish it. Thanks Doc and Kevin for the kind words, Mark.
I am still not sure how ou do them...I've read your articles, looked at the pistures, but I am still mystified at the techniques you use...friggin gorgeous!
Owen, I started drinking from bottles as well. After the last time I got together with Doc I had a life time supply of recycled aluminum to tap into (lol). I just got back from the St. Croix factory and they had a couple of their new fly rods for us to practice with. The rods were great, however my fly casting ability is in need of improvement.
Jerry, thanks for the kind words. Your work is spectacular as well. I only wish that I had more time to talk to you in High Point.
Terry, thanks for the kind words as well. The TRB site is very good and I truley enjoy the time that I spend here.
