Doug Smith Bio

My wife Virginia and I live in Highlands Texas. I am a operator in a chemical plant and she works at spoiling me and the grandkids. We have 3 daughters and 4 grandkids.

We enjoy huntuing and fishing, and sometimes find time to shoot sporting clays. Enjoy spoiling the grandkids, and include them in some of our hunting and fishing trips.

Started building rods about about 3 years ago as a way to upgrade our own equipment and build for the grandkids. It expanded to friends and family, then started building custom order rods. I have been doing a lot of custom cork handles lately.
I currently build inshore and freshwater rods.

Thanks Doc. We spend most of our time fishing for the "Texas Big Three", Speckled Trout, Redfish and Flounder.
